Existence of Minimizers in Incremental Elasto-Plasticity with Finite Strains

چکیده
We consider elasto-plastic deformations of a body which is subjected to a time-dependent loading. The model includes fully nonlinear elasticity as well as the multiplicative split of the deformation gradient into an elastic part and a plastic part. Using the energetic formulation for this rate-independent process we derive a time-incremental problem, which is a minimization problem with respect to the deformation and the plastic variables. We provide assumptions on the constitutive laws of the material which guarantee that the incremental problem can be solved for as many time steps as desired. The methods relies on the polyconvexity of the so-called condensed energy functional and on a priori estimates for the plastic variables using the dissipation distance.

A Finite Volume Formulation for the Elasto-Plastic Analysis of Rectangular Mindlin-Reissner Plates, a Non-Layered Approach
This paper extends the previous work of authors and presents a non-layered Finite Volume formulation for the elasto-plastic analysis of Mindlin-Reissner plates. The incremental algorithm of the elasto-plastic solution procedure is shown in detail. The performance of the formulation is examined by analyzing of plates with different boundary conditions and loading types. The results are illustrat...
متن کاملRegularity up to the Boundary for Nonlinear Elliptic Systems Arising in Time-Incremental Infinitesimal Elasto-plasticity
In this note we investigate the question of higher regularity up to the boundary for quasilinear elliptic systems which origin from the time-discretization of models from infinitesimal elasto-plasticity. Our main focus lies on an elasto-plastic Cosserat model. More specifically we show that the time discretization renders H-regularity of the displacement and H-regularity for the symmetric plast...
متن کاملOn Constitutive Relations at Finite Strain: Hypo-elasticity and Elasto-plasticity with Isotropic or Kinematic Hardening*
The question of ‘generalization’ to finite strains of the constitutive relations of infinitesimal strain theory of elasticity, and classical elasto-plasticity with isotropic and kinematic hardening, is critically examined. Simple generalizations, which lead to physically plausible material behaviour, are presented. The current controversies surrounding (i) the choice of stress-rate in the above...
متن کاملLocalized Direct Boundary-Domain Integro-Differential Formulations for Incremental Elasto–Plasticity of Inhomogeneous Body
A quasi-static mixed boundary value problem of incremental elasto-plasticity for a continuously inhomogeneous body is considered. Using the two-operator Green-Betti formula and the fundamental solution of a reference homogeneous linear elasticity problem, with frozen initial or tangent elastic coefficients, a boundary-domain integro-differential formulation of the elasto-plastic problem is pres...
متن کاملA computational approach for thermo-elasto-plastic frictional contact based on a monolithic formulation using non-smooth nonlinear complementarity functions
A new monolithic solution scheme for thermo-elasto-plasticity and thermo-elasto-plastic frictional contact with finite deformations and finite strains is presented. A key feature is the reformulation of all involved inequality constraints, namely those of Hill’s orthotropic yield criterion as well as the normal and tangential contact constraints, in terms of non-smooth nonlinear complementarity...
